A full body harness is described as a 'body support' for fall arrest purposes, ie. a component of a fall system (BS EN363). The Lanyard
A lanyard is often described as a 'connecting element' or 'component' of a system. A lanyard may be of synthetic fibre rope, wire rope, webbing or chain (BS EN363). This definition applies to both fall arrest and restraint lanyards. When working in a MEWP / aerial platform, the safest form of personal protection is a work restraint system that restricts the users' movement to within the safe working area. A simple and effective solution is provided by a lightweight full body harness used in conjunction with an adjustable restraint lanyard or adjustable fall arrest lanyard.
